Questions
EVERYTHING PEOPLE ASK.
How we time clearing, what is included, where we work and how quotes and referrals actually function.
When do you arrive after it snows?
We come once the snowfall event has finished. We monitor conditions rather than working to a fixed clock, because arriving while snow is still falling means clearing the same surface twice. Waiting until the snow has stopped is what makes a single pass hold.
Do you clear during active snowfall?
No. While snow is still actively accumulating, a cleared driveway can be covered again within the hour. We clear once the snowfall has finished, so the pass you get is the one that lasts.
What happens during a long storm?
We keep monitoring until it ends. A long storm does not change the approach — we clear once the snowfall has finished, so the property gets one complete clearing rather than a series of partial ones that get undone.
What happens when the snow stops?
That is when the work happens. Once the event ends we clear the driveway, walkways and access points, treat ice-prone surfaces where de-icing is part of your service, and make a final pass over edges and thresholds.
Do you offer de-icing?
Yes. De-icing is available as part of winter property care. It reduces how much ice forms and how long it stays on treated surfaces. It does not eliminate winter risk — temperature, traffic and melt cycles all change what a surface does.
What is included in a snow-removal service?
That depends on the property and what is agreed in your contract. Typically it covers driveway clearing, walkways and access points, shovelling for steps and tight areas a machine cannot reach, and de-icing where you have included it. We confirm the specifics in writing before the season starts.
What areas do you serve?
Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, Cochrane and surrounding Calgary-area communities where service is actually available. We do not claim to cover the entire region — if your property sits outside those areas, tell us where it is and we will say plainly whether we can reach it.
Do you handle both residential and commercial properties?
Yes. We work on residential driveways and walkways as well as commercial properties. The operating model is the same in both cases — the scope, surfaces and expectations are set out in the contract.
How do quotes work?
You send us the property details through the quote form. We review the address, property type, surfaces and whether de-icing is needed, then come back to you with a quote. We do not publish package pricing because properties differ too much for a fixed price to mean anything.
How does the referral discount work?
Refer someone who signs a qualifying snow-removal contract with Snow Op and you receive $50 off your own contract. The discount is earned when they sign, not when the referral is submitted, and it is applied as a credit to your contract rather than paid out as cash.
Do you offer month-to-month service?
No. Snow Op works on seasonal contracts only. A season-long agreement is what lets us hold capacity for your property and be there for every event — that does not work if properties come and go month to month. The contract sets out the surfaces covered, the timing basis and whether de-icing is included.
